Jim Amarosa began his career in the state of Florida as a Certified Legal Intern with the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office, he assisted in the representation of both adults and juveniles charged with all types of misdemeanor and felony crimes ranging from less serious offenses like disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, to more serious crimes like robbery and organized fraud.

Since establishing the Amarosa Law Firm, P.A. some 15 years ago, he expanded his practice to include the representation of clients facing both state and federal criminal charges throughout the entire state of Florida, including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Polk counties. He also practices at the appellate level by representing clients with state criminal appeals.

Although he considers himself first and foremost a trial lawyer, Mr. Amarosa also routinely represents individuals whose main interest is in resolving their case as expeditiously as possible. While every situation is different, Mr. Amarosa strives to minimize the effects and ramifications of a criminal case to allow his clients to put the case behind them and move on with their professional and personal lives.

Mr. Amarosa is a former legal studies and law professor, and he had the pleasure of being the program director and department chair. He is an active board of director and past president of the Hillsborough County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers he is an active member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as well as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Amarosa continuously and zealously represents his clients and always ensures that his clients can afford his services as he believes that everyone should be able to afford a top-notch criminal defense lawyer.
